SO WHAT MAKES WINE EXPENSIVE?

There are many factors that affect price of wine, however oak barrels tend to be a large force driving up prices of wine.

Anura chardonnay - R95
Only 15% of the juice was oak matured, making this wine light. Also, it only spent 4 months in old american barrels.
Mooiplaas Chenin - R122
Harvested by hand from Old Bush Vines in Stellenbosch, and then barrel matured for 10-11 months.
Niel Joubert Grenache - R144
This wine was matured in 80% new french oak for an (unbelievable) 26 months.
